Saturday

Life is short, but there is always time enough for courtesy.

CHRISTMAS Past Mercury Glass

I am playing CHRISTMAS music and unpacking and starting on my mercury glass displays today. Just a little jump start on some holiday decorating!
This an image from CHRISTMAS past and was the start of my mercury glass obsession.
~ Can you believe these were from WAL mART a few years ago??
Now I have red and gold and bronze added to my collection.
After CHRISTMAS last year I went a little spazzy and bought about 75 new pieces on clearance for my daughter Moriah and I.
I even found some purple pieces for her!!
I also have enough for my younger daughter Joleigh Belle to have one day.
I do not have any vintage pieces but I am thrilled with these reproductions all the same:)!
No I am not rushing Thanksgiving.... I plan to enjoy it and will not put any trees up yet but I love my mercury glass and want to enjoy it a little early this year!!

Saturday

Our pumpkins both big and small are still hanging in there and we are hopeful that they last long enough for our outdoor Thanksgiving Day decor that we have planned.
We have simple decorating ideas and a big feast planned.
I found a dozen crisp white handmade dinner napkins at a thrift store and brought them home and tea stained them to use on the dinner table....the clerks were horrified when I mentioned tea staining them. So I hurried home and laundered them and made a big batch of tea and threw caution to the wind!! They are very warm and rustic just like I imagined they would be.
Ah well... I know some of you will get it...right??
What do you have planned for your table?? I'd love to hear all about it!
In the meantime we are savoring these beautifully warm Fall days..the forecast for next week is much cooler.

Saturday

Anniversary Boots

He said "What do you want for our Anniversary?"

She said " I can't think of anything really..I am pretty content these days."

Then she remembered The Boots...dare she ask??

They are kinda pricey and more than she has ever spent on a pair of shoes..more than 10 pair of shoes.

So she sent him the link.

And He said "Are you sure?"

And she said "Maybe these will make me start dressing like an adult"...of course I will have to wear them every day to justify the price...to myself.

He said "Whatever you want if YOU are happy then I am happy."

Ahhhh... Now she remembered why she married this sweet guy...17 years ago today.

The Boots will be here in a few weeks so yes that will be me digging through your junk pile doin' a little Roadside Rescuin' in my new boots.

Just wave as you go by....

Sunday

~Autumn~

I love this time of year! Nature's colors are so rich..the weather is crisp and the beautiful leaves are changing colors by the hour and falling at our feet to create a beautiful path. Most of these were taken right on the street where we live and by my daughter's school. How lucky are we to live in such a quaint and beautiful town?! What does Fall look like in your neck of the woods??

~Flu Schmoo~

Been MIA with the flu bug.
My sweet bonus daughter brought me these straight from her trellis in front of her childhood playhouse. They really brightened my day. Love that my Family "gets me"..... they know that flowers from a garden, an overgrown weed patch or off of the side of the road are the ones that are the most endearing to me. I love the simple elegance of them.

Old Cottage Door

I finally painted my front door RED!!! The free Candy Apple colored paint from Glidden did not work out..way too thin and very ugly on the door (but perfect for a future project) so off to the little hometown Ace Hardware Store I went 'cause I like to keep my money local and help out the little guys. I chose a paint named dried tomato which covered very well and I love it!!! I still need to do some touch up work on it due to a very rainy end of Summer and start to Fall. Next project is to clean out my junk shed! You would not belive the horror inside of it...and Friday Night junkin' is back so I have to make room!
Enjoy your Sunday!
